![]() Now that I think about it, could the issue be that I run Rocket League in Borderless Windowed instead of Exclusive Fullscreen mode? ![]() So with DS4Windows whenever I launched Rocket League the DS4 would enter Dinput mode and as soon as I exit the game it would switch back to Xinput.Īs far as I understood it the "Use DS4 Configuration Support" checkbox in the Steam Overlay is supposed to act the same way but it didn't work for me, instead the DS4 simply used Steam's "Desktop Configuration" whenever Rocket League was running. However it's the one thing that bugs me, even if it's largely cosmetic I use a special fork of DS4Windows that allows it to disable the Xinput emulation for specified games. That's true, support for that doesn't seem to be in the current build yet.Īh yeah I'm aware of the underlying issue, I mean all were are doing in regards to the DS4 is to translate its native Dinput inputs to Xinput so if you don't hide the Dinput part of course things will get messy. When you disable PS4 Controller Support in Steam, you're supposed to disconnect and reconnect the controller, if you really insist on the game seeing it as one rather than an XInput device. Ideally games will move to full Steam Controller API support where button prompts will automatically change to match whichever controller you are using, rather than custom support being developed for every single controller out there. Many (most/all?) games with custom DS4 support don't seem to support the new controllers either. ![]() If you don't prevent games from seeing the DirectInput device, many games will receive dual inputs from two separate controllers and won't know what to do or inputs will be doubled up. Steam prevents the game from seeing the DirectInput device so that it sees an XInput device instead - just like DS4 Windows does with the "Hide DS4" (Exclusive Mode) option which is required for many games to work correctly. ![]()
